The new iPads will arrive on May 7, and new information about them has now been leaked: Apple seems to want to promote the new devices so much that the M3 generation of chipsets will be completely omitted from them, and the latest M4 chipsets will be installed instead, opening the way for developments based on artificial intelligence.
As Index previously reported, Apple is already hard at work on the M4 chips, despite the fact that the previous generation chipset was unveiled only half a year ago. One of the main reasons for this is that Apple wants, as soon as possible, to fill its portfolio exclusively with devices that are particularly suitable for running large AI models – this is what the M4 chip promises, among other things.
There have been rumors that the company could begin the transition with new MacBook Pros sometime in the second half of the year, but it now appears…
Apple's AI revolution will arrive much sooner than we thought, because the company could unveil the long-awaited chip at an event next week, and then assemble it directly into the new iPad Pros.
The completely redesigned tablets will therefore be the first to receive Apple's latest M-series chipset, opening a new era in the world of Apple tablets.
Others will come
In addition to the new iPad Pros, the company is also expected to introduce new iPad Airs – for the first time, like the MacBook Airs, in two sizes, with 10.9- and 12.9-inch displays.
In addition to the iPads, two new accessories may arrive: the redesigned third-generation Apple Pencil could innovate with a longer operating time, different stiffness tips and haptic feedback, while the Magic Keyboard will attract attention with a larger trackpad and more connectors. .
You can follow Apple's announcement on the company's YouTube channel starting at 4:00 PM Hungarian time on May 7.
