Botnet's activity reached its peak on January 14, 2025, when 1.59 million infected devices were recorded in 226 countries. There are currently 800,000 active robots in the network, with the highest percentage of Brazil (25 percent), South Africa (13.6 percent) and Indonesia (10.5 %). The number of perceptions in Europe is still minimal, with only 1.06 percent of the affected devices in the list of the best 15.
Botnet Vo1D mainly serves for two purposes: it is rented as an agent or used to provide advertising. According to researchers, Botnet is “borrowed” periodically to other groups – at least this explains the rapid volatility of infection data.
Since the injury method is still unknown, security experts are cautious about Android TV users. To reduce risks, they regularly recommend updating devices, ignore applications from unreliable sources and stop remote access features – write – Bleeping computers.
What is Android TV?
Android TV is a smart TV building developed from Google based on Android operating system. It is played on smart TVs and collection boxes that support apps that can be downloaded from the Google Play Store, such as Netflix, YouTube or HBO Max.
However, due to the open source of the system, it can be more likely to electronic threats if users use inappropriate security settings or do not update their devices regularly. Android TV is found on Sony, Philips, TCL and Xiaomi, among the manufacturers in Hungary.
