Indicator – Abroad – Kamala Harris is open to another discussion, but Donald Trump says it's too late

Kamala Harris has accepted CNN's invitation, so she's ready to participate in another presidential candidate debate with Donald Trump on October 23, according to reports. The Guardian.

“Donald Trump should have no problem agreeing to this debate. It is the exact same format and structure as the CNN debate he attended in June, and later said he won when he praised CNN’s moderators, rules and ratings,” Harris campaign manager Jen O’Malley Dillon said in a statement.

I am pleased to accept the second presidential candidate debate on October 23. I hope Donald Trump will join me.

Harris later posted on X.

Trump ran against Joe Biden in June, but the president's performance was so poor that he finally dropped out of the race in July, replaced by his running mate Kamala Harris.

However, Donald Trump’s staffers appear not to be at all open to another debate. When Trump’s spokesman was alerted that Harris had accepted the invitation, he pointed to the former president’s previous statements that there would be no further debate. Shortly after, Trump gave a speech at a rally in Wilmington, North Carolina, in which he said that Harris only wanted a rematch because he knew he would lose the election.

“He’s been to one debate, I’ve been to two. It’s too late to do another one,” Trump said. “I would like to in many ways, but it’s too late.”

Harris and Trump held their first presidential debate in Philadelphia on September 10, which Democrat Harris was widely expected to win. But Trump disagreed with those votes and declared himself the winner.
