Elon Musk said that the new CEO will take over the helm of Twitter Inc. which recently changed its name to X Corp. in the coming weeks. Although he hasn’t announced the name of the new CEO, The Wall Street Journal reports that NBCUniversal’s career director Linda Iaccarino is negotiating with the billionaire for the position.
I’m excited to announce the appointment of X/Twitter as a new CEO. It will start working in about 6 weeks!
Elon Musk wrote in a Twitter post. “My role will evolve into CEO and CTO, overseeing product, software, and system administrators,” he added.

The American billionaire bought the company in October after long and difficult negotiations. Musk finally launched a Twitter poll in December asking users if he should step down as CEO of the company. The majority of users voted yes to the question.
Musk said at the time that he would respect the outcome of the vote and act accordingly once he found someone “foolish enough to take the job.” In February, he confirmed that he would try to find his successor by the end of the year.
Musk has received a lot of criticism for his political changes to Twitter. However, during this time Musk also lost a lot of advertisers, who mostly made up their minds due to concerns about hateful behavior on the platform, mass layoffs at Twitter or questions about the company’s future.
