In the past 10 years, the average Hungarian wage in euros has doubled, vzászník.hu reports. According to the article, wages in the target countries rose by between 2-4 percent annually in quiet years, but they also jumped during inflation. Austrian and German wages have risen by almost 40 percent in 10 years, according to szössö.hu.
But if we start from the assumption that such inflationary shocks are rare, and therefore we do not expect them in the foreseeable future, it is sufficient to rely on 30 percent as a maximum.
The portal reported, then added: Accordingly, within 10 years, the Hungarian wage in euros will double, from 2,000 to 2,100 euros, and the Austrian and German level will be about 3,600 euros.
As you can see, there will not be much to bring here, and the Hungarian wage level will reach 56-58 percent of the target countries.
We will catch up with the Germans and Austrians by 2040
a Growth.is He writes that in another 10 years, we will reach €4,100, while Austrian and German wage levels will rise to €4,700: by the end of 2043, we will have already exceeded the set level,
So we will reach the target in approximately 2039 or 2040.
However, the author of the article cautioned that there is one problem to take into account: we cannot determine in advance how long excess growth in the Hungarian economy can last.
If the process slows down in the meantime, we will have to settle for annual wage increases of more than 10%, and move away from 10%.
This would extend the process by up to 10 years, so we can say that if there are no unusual events that disrupt operations, we can expect a period of approximately 15 to 25 years.
