Indicator – Economy – The Mars chocolate manufacturer decided to take a drastic step

The chocolate manufacturer said it wanted to lay the foundations for a “more sustainable future” with the new packaging, which is available in British Tesco stores.

The company that produces Mars chocolate said its goal is to make all of its packaging “recyclable, reusable or compostable”.

Richard Sutherland-Moore, packaging specialist at Mars Wrigley UK, told us that the company is exploring different packaging ideas for all of its sweets.

They are making a huge investment

For Mars Rod, he said, the challenge was providing adequate protection “while ensuring food safety, quality, and product integrity to prevent food waste.”

The company has announced that it will invest hundreds of millions of pounds in order to reduce plastic use by a third, he writes Sky News.

Adam Grant, managing director of Mars Wrigley UK, said trying Mars packaging was “a huge step in learning how paper packaging works in everyday life”.

Chocolate maker Mars has taken a huge step toward carbon neutrality, which it says it has achieved through carbon credits and emissions reductions.

Tesco said it was “thrilled” to work with Mars on the new packaging.
