Instagram Says Goodbye to Summer With New Photo Editing Options

People already had a lot of editing options on Instagram, and now the range of options available is expanding even more. The company is already offering the possibility of using more interesting inscriptions and is also introducing other innovations. While the innovation that shows the number of posts that have been shared is also being tested.

Captions for videos and photos have become very popular lately, and Instagram, following the trends, decided to add captions. Until now, it was still possible to write on photos, but the text captioned on a simple photo was not particularly flashy. Anyone who wanted to create some cool and impressive text was forced to use a third-party photo editor. But in the future, the situation will be different, and it will be solved instantly using Instagram's built-in editing tools.

“This option gives you creative flexibility to highlight your content and explore a more fun way to tell stories with photos and page-turning ‘albums,’” the Instagram team said. The text will appear like stickers in posts.

Another innovation is that Instagram now allows users to add another image to the recording they want to share, also in the form of a sticker. You can say it is a picture-in-picture sharing, where the added image can be embedded in different shapes. The inserted image can be cropped into a circle, square, heart or star, and the range of possibilities can gradually expand over time.

Another new feature on Instagram is that you can now string up to 20 photos and/or videos together in a single post. Previously, the maximum number was 10, but the company has doubled that so users can show their followers more snaps taken on vacation, for example.

Instagram has been working on boosting engagement on the platform for a long time. Through photos and videos sent in direct messages, the platform can significantly increase the time a user spends on the app, which is one of the most important metrics of popularity. In the past few days, the company has begun testing a meter on a larger scale, which shows people how many times different posts have been sent to their friends by users who have sponsored the platform.

The amount of likes, comments and shares in the message will be transparent.

Instagram expects people to be more drawn to the forwarding option, so you can now see under each photo and video how many times it has been forwarded. As a result, more people will be able to use this option than before.
