Intuitive Machines may be the first private company to bring its spacecraft to the lunar surface |  Astronomy

In recent months, various lunar missions have really picked up, India and Russia can soon reach the southern corner of the celestial body – and according to the latest news, the private company Intuitive Machines will launch its spacecraft to the Moon in November, using a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket.




The Nova-C probe of the private US space company is already ready for He landed on the moon, and according to plans, this could happen on November 15 of this year. Of course, this could change, as the company wants to use SpaceX’s Falcon-9 rocket to launch their spacecraft, which NASA’s Kennedy Space Center will decide to launch.

Is the IM company’s mission funded? 1 through NASA’s Commercial Lunar Payload Services (CLPS) program, which aims to deliver various science instruments to the lunar surface. The probe will not land at the South Pole, but around the equator, as the agency wanted to align it with their Artemis-3 program.

If the mission is successful, Intuitive Machines could become the first private company to land a spacecraft safely on the lunar surface.
