The latest version of iOS 16.2 and iPadOS 16.2 is available and installable for all users with compatible devices. The new update includes Apple Music, singing functionFreeform app that makes collaborating with Apple devices easier, new widgets, iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max Templates, new settings options for the always-on display, Game Center updates, and security innovations, such as an update to the encryption used by iCloud.

In addition, iOS 16.2 contains dozens of vulnerabilities and bug fixes, which can also be installed by users who are running the main version of iOS 15 on their devices, they need to download iOS 15.7.2. Patches that correct vulnerabilities apply to, among others, AppleAVD, GPU drivers, ImageIO, iTunes Store, and WebKit. By the way, most of the vulnerabilities in WebKit were contained, seven of them have been fixed by new updates, including one through which processing malicious web content (a video file) allowed an attacker to run arbitrary code. WebKit and other bug fixes can be installed on other Apple devices with current macOS, tvOS, and watchOS updates. It is not yet known how long Apple will support major release 15 with customized security updates on iOS 16 compatible devices.
