Something that might appear on a seven-and-a-half-year-old Nintendo console that only an older audience would remember, because it's not a particularly recent episode.
A Nintendo Switch version of MySims has appeared on the websites of Swiss publisher World of Games and German distributor Vitrex. The information appeared on the ResetEra forum. Both pages also indicated a potential release date, which they believe could be Tuesday, November 19. Victrex also uploaded a product image, but this is likely a temporary solution, as it is low-resolution and uses the original artwork. These two distributors are not affiliated with Nintendo or Electronic Arts, so there will definitely be a retail (cassette/card) version of the game.
MySimset was developed by EA Redwood Shores. It was released in 2007, and the studio became known by its later name, because a year later, Dead Space came from them under the name Visceral Games. MySims was a spin-off aimed at a younger generation with cartoonish Mii-like characters focused on building and decorating the city, while also helping neighbors with their tasks. Socialization is simplified, the characters don't age, and they don't have physical needs either. It's basically an Animal Crossing clone.
This game was released in September 2007 for the Nintendo Wii and DS. With the help of Java 2 Micro Edition (J2ME), it made its way to phones in 2008, and the Wii version was ported to PC as well. Up until now, there hasn’t been much talk about such an old series being ported to the Nintendo Switch. By 2010, five more games had come under the MySims brand: MySims Kingdom, Party, Racing, Agents, and SkyHeroes. Then it all faded away, and this show remained silent for a decade and a half, and perhaps not coincidentally.
If a Nintendo Switch port (remake?) of MySims is indeed in the works, it could be announced during the rumored Nintendo Direct for September. Until then, it's not official.
