Within the framework of the so-called Day 0, future ninth graders got to know each other and the institution itself at the Joseph Sikach Evangelical School on August 27. Fun and hidden tasks awaited them, as well as various presentations and briefings.

The 2024/2025 school year is approaching, and ninth graders will likely face the most novelties at this time, as most students will be in a completely new environment at this time. The József Székács Evangelical School program wanted to make this easier for them, so the institution organized joint sessions for 47 future high school students within the framework of Day 0.

– The majority of those present join us from other schools and institutions. On this day, we try to answer their questions and needs, show them what our school looks like, and what can await them here. They get to know the building, the different program options, the class teachers, and last but not least, each other. This will continue later, when we officially open them as students of Székács High School in a fun way – explained the details of the institution's deputy director, Peter Deák.

He added that in addition to the get-to-know-each-other games, other offerings offered by the school were also on display, where the children could find out about the youth programs they would be able to participate in during their high school years or the organizations they could join. For example, they were introduced to their fellow students participating in the school’s student program, but they also learned how the Interact Club works. After that, they took a tour of the entire school, where many hidden tasks awaited them, and before the closure, they also summarized their experiences with their future class teachers.

– For me, the primary school years were also good, with many friends and experiences, so I am confident that it will be the same now, with the beginning of the secondary school years – said one of the participants, Adrian Patricia Szabo.
