It Takes Two: Steam Deck support for cloud saves!

It Takes Two: Steam Deck support for cloud saves!

Fortunately, there is a solution, so Hazelight Studios' fantastic co-op game won't cause so many awkward moments if we replay it later, even on Valve's own laptop…

Released in 2021, Josef Fares won Best Multiplayer Game at the Golden Joystick Awards, Best Family Game, Best Multiplayer Game and Game of the Year at The Game Awards. It currently has over 141k reviews on Steam and is in a very positive category, but it still needs an EA app launcher.

As of now, this is no longer necessary, but if we continue to play with others through the Electronic Arts app, we can do so by selecting the EA Friends List option under It Takes Two. We can add their EA Account to our friends list and invite them through EA, the Q&A says. However, EA app cloud saves can cause issues. It is no longer available due to technical limitations, but this may not affect everyone, because many likely have their saves in the cloud…on Steam.

But Electronic Arts has demonstrated a solution to the problem by sharing a playable file saved from the Hazelight website. After downloading it, place it in the path C:\Users\[felhasználónevünk]Directory \AppData\Local\ItTakesTwo. If you have this, start the game, then you can access any chapter from the chapter selection menu. Sure, this seems like quite an outdated solution, but if something works, why should we criticize it? After all, this is also a rescue, and it still achieves its goal…

There's just one problem with the new update: if you're going to be playing online with a friend, you'll still need an EA Account to connect to the servers. However, if we are using local co-op or Steam Remote Play Together, we do not need to register with Electronic Arts. If we can access It Takes Two through Friend's Pass, we can do so through the EA app, or we can also install the new Steam version.

At least the game now runs on Steam Deck, which is good.
