After it became official that HWA will not be on the starting grid for the upcoming Formula 3 season, it has now been revealed that Formula 2 teams will also be disqualified at the end of the 2021 season, Motorsport.com.
Formula 3 recently announced the 10 teams who will be able to compete in their series between 2022 and 2024. It turns out that in addition to the usual nine teams so far, rookie Van Amersfoort Racing will be able to appear in the series instead of the HWA team.
However, the former DTM giant Musta has announced that he will also complete the Formula 2 project in order to better focus on the GT racing and long-distance teams. Until last year, HWA joined a chain called the Formula One Lobby to replace Team Arden.
They had their best result last weekend in Sochi, where Jake Hughes finished fourth. However, the team only ranks last in the team competition, having only managed to score points once in addition to the aforementioned 4th place.
It is not yet known which team will be able to take over HWA’s position in Formula 2 starting in the 2022 season.
