After last year’s fifth place, Jászfényszaru’s team is only ninth. We spoke with László Kemecsi about the reasons for the decline, and what prospects can be expected around the band’s home in the spring.
What are your goals for this season?
– We had bold goals, applied for places close to the podium beforehand, although several of our key players left, but we had to realize we needed more time to integrate the newcomers.
– How do you rate the fall season?
– Compared to last year and in terms of results, it’s disappointing, but despite this, we’ve made progress, and the team now has a leader. We’re headed for over ninth place.
– What can be known about the preparation?
– We started on January 9th, and the company meets five times a week. This means either four exercises and one match, or three exercises and two meetings. We’ll play Bagg for the first time on February 14th, and then we’ll play mostly in the Heves County Association’s Artificial Turf Championship. We will have three matches for sure, on the 22nd against Pashto, on the 29th against the Balutas, and on the 5th our opponent will be the Hered team. In addition, we will meet Gyöngyös AK on January 25th and Energia Gyöngyös on February 1st.
Unfortunately, due to cost-cutting, we had to let go of three players who came to us from a distance, so we also had to say goodbye to Norbert Kerik, Bence Dance and David Balogh. We’ve already half interest in a replacement, Christoph Zanko is coming to us from Hatvan, and we’d also like to confirm a winger and inside defender.
– What score do you want to achieve at the end of the tournament?
– This time I’m more careful, we’re trying to climb a few places in the table, fifth place last year is already an achievement, and we also want to go as far as possible in the cup. It will be important for us to score the first goal in the matches of the second half of the championship, because in the fall we often had to run after the score, and we want to avoid that in continuation.
