Jennifer Lopez takes on AI Simu Liu in Netflix's ATLAS trailer

The full trailer for Jennifer Lopez's upcoming movie atlas Dropped, the “Jenny from the Block” hitmaker is shown taking down an AI robot, played by Simu Liu.

Throughout her impressive filmography, Lopez has portrayed all types of characters, including a wedding planner, a stripper, and a member of the housekeeping staff. Most recently, she played a beefed-up version of herself on Amazon Prime Video this is me now.

But now, the singer and actor plays Atlas Shepard, a data analyst agent who doesn't trust artificial intelligence (who does?). Atlas embarks on a mission to recover the tainted robot she knows, Leo.

As a trailer for atlas Reaching its climax, the protagonist seems to decide to move with the times and finally accepts the idea of ​​artificial intelligence. It's a good thing too, as she's lost on an uninhabitable planet with only her robotic suit's AI to keep her company.

The action-packed film sees Sterling K. Brown, Lana Parrilla, Mark Strong, Abraham Popoola, and Gregory James Cohan to Lopez and Liu.

Lopez said earlier Entertainment Weekly That the “moving and poignant story” on top of the big action sequences brought her to tears. “It's a story of friendship and learning how to trust; a bond between two beings who connect in catastrophic circumstances and teach each other how to be more human,” she told the outlet.

But acting in scenes between her and an AI program, rather than with real human stars, was not without its own challenges. “It was like doing a one-woman show,” she said. “You're there alone, imagining everything because it's just a green screen — and there was no way to stop you.”

Fans are absolutely excited to watch Lopez's new story unfold, with one person commenting below the trailer, saying: “Sounds like a good story!”
