Joe Biden wants to pass  billion in additional spending through Congress

proposed budget includes $24 billion for Ukraine and other international expenses, $4 billion for border security and $12 billion for disaster relief. Despite criticism from House Republicans, a senior administration official expressed optimism about an agreement on the request, stressing that it does not violate a budget agreement reached in June. The official stressed the urgency of spending and expressed hope for bipartisanship.

House Republicans have criticized the proposal, saying it violates the budget agreement passed in June. However, the government official argued that emergency funding requests are not precluded by the terms of said agreement. Another senior official emphasized that America remains committed to supporting Ukraine against aggressive Russia.

In addition to the above appropriations, President Biden’s funding request It includes $3.3 billion to expand the World Bank’s development and infrastructure loans.

This initiative aims to provide developing countries with a credible alternative to China’s forced and unsustainable lending and infrastructure projects.

This was made clear by Shalanda Young, Biden’s budget director, in a letter to Congress.
