Jonathan Levy: Third place is good, but we can achieve more

– I was able to relax and recharge during the break. This is when you try to make the most of your free time, enjoying the moments you spend with your family and friends, as you don't have many opportunities to do that in the previous eleven months. You can use this to recharge your batteries so that you can go to work with renewed energy – Puskas Academy striker Jonathan Levy began his thoughts in our newspaper. He added that they have already started the hard work, finished a training camp and will soon travel to Austria.

The Swedish player moved to the Puskas Academy in January 2023 from Norrkoping, who competes in the first division in his country.

– I feel good in Hungary, but it was strange when I first came here, as I have only played for Scandinavian teams so far in my career. There is a big difference between the way football is played there and the way they play here, the training is different too and so is the culture. It is not easy to adapt, but at the same time I really enjoy this situation, as I can get to know the Hungarian virtue – said Levy.

The striker told our newspaper that he expects a lot from himself in the new season, but he also spoke about his vision regarding the Puskas Academy.

“Sometimes I expect a lot from myself, which may not always be the best. “I would be happy for the team if we could do better than last year. Third place is good, but we can do more. There is a lot of potential in this company, and the community is great too,” the Swedish striker continued. He stressed that preparations are going well and that they are doing their best to be at their best at the start of the season.

By finishing third last season, Puskás Akadémia FC also earned the right to start in the Conference League, where Ukrainian Dnipro will await them in the second qualifying round. According to Jonathan Levy, these matches are the best, he really enjoys them.

– During my career, I had the opportunity to play in the group stage of the European Cup Series twice. As a footballer, there is no better feeling, because you play and are on the pitch every third or fourth day. You arrive and train in a completely new environment the day before, then come back after the game, but you don't have a break because the tournament is coming. You get to know other countries, other cultures and other styles of football, and it's a very good feeling. I hope we can do our best in the Conference League and that we can get a few rounds in the qualifiers – concluded the Swedish footballer.
