The women’s national team is tripled, at least in terms of world competitions this year, because after the World Championships and the European Championship, the eighth finals of the World League awaits Attila Peru in Tenerife next Wednesday. The captain of the national team called up twenty players, Rita Kestelly, the captain of the team that missed the European Championship, and was back in the squad, and only the injured Natasa Rybanska and Edina Jungle are missing from the World Cup silver medalist team.
“We would like to end the year in a dignified manner, especially in light of the fact that Tenerife is not the team participating in the European Championship, but the team that was seen in the World Cup, even if not in its entirety. He told Nemzeti Sport Judge Atilla. – In the last competition, we played in the final, just like in the world championship, so we want to restore the aura, which took a huge blow at the European Championship. I expect such a match and as a result we will be seen at the World Olympic Qualifiers next year as those who can fight for a publishing stake. We have to play better than we did in the European Championship and finish higher than fifth.”
As usual, the young captain called up to join the team, among whom, in addition to Vanda Paxa, who turned 21 in November, Luca Torma, who also turned 16 in November, and Kata Hajidi, 16, can train with her. adults for the first time.
“I haven’t picked 16-year-olds yet, but now I do. The captain turned to the newcomers. – Kata Hajdu and Luca Turma have proven all summer to be extremely talented and have been essential members of their squad at all three World Junior Championships. I’d like to get to know their playing style, their coaching spirit, and then it will be clear if they fit into the 15-player traveling squad. Nineteen of us are currently working, because Vanda Valle is still playing a league game in Italy, so you won’t be joining us until the end of the week. Vanda Baksa was also not a member of the team, apart from her we have many youngsters who have already joined the team. I keep an eye on them constantly and keep them here around the fire and I hope they get posted. I also trust that they will create a competitive situation for the more experienced players, so no one can feel comfortable.”
The national team prepares in the morning at the Lucky Pool and in the afternoon at the Hajos Pool. The program also includes training matches with Ferencvaros.
“Adapting to the tournament schedule, we don’t develop strength, we mainly develop tactics – Attila Biro said about the preparation. – We didn’t play perfectly in the finals either, especially in the Euro, so there is something to hone. I told the girls that we don’t even start in the concrete mixer for small pebbles, and that in addition to building the Olympic team, we also have to play well. The stadium will be stronger than it was in the European Championship, so I would like the team to play much more strongly than it was in the European Championship.”
The captain will announce the 15-man squad on Friday, which starts on Monday.
