Smollett, shaking his fist in the air upon hearing the punishment, repeatedly shouted that he was innocent and had no suicidal intentions.
Smollett was prosecuted for saying he had two men in January 2019 attackHe was beaten, insulted for the color of his skin and homosexuality, they chanted winning slogans, doused him with chlorine, and finally threw a rope around his neck. The alleged attackers were eventually caught, they said the actor had hired them, and had just launched the attack.
