Huawei’s app store, AppGallery, has been revamped, and now it works simpler than ever. The manufacturer’s app store is integrated with the smart app search engine Petal Search, so a wide range of Android apps can be accessed directly without the help of a separate search engine. All apps undergo a four-step security check, and we are constantly notified of potential updates. AppGallery has now grown into the third largest app store globally, increased its user base by ten percent outside of China in the past year, and already has more than 580 million active monthly users worldwide.
Huawei’s own app store, AppGallery, has become the third largest app store in the world over the past two years. The platform has more than 580 million active monthly users around the world, including 43 million users in Europe, which represents 10% growth in regions outside of China over the past year.
In addition to growth, it is still essential to access applications as easily as possible on Huawei phones, so thanks to the latest move from the manufacturer, AppGallery has been revamped, and searching and downloading applications has become simpler and more efficient, after the previous smart search engine Petal Search was integrated into the App Store Applications. From now on, users of Huawei devices can also access the most popular social media applications, such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and LinkedIn, by searching directly through AppGallery, without the help of a separate search engine. The same goes for popular entertainment apps like Netflix, Disney+ or Spotify, as well as communication apps like WhatsApp or Facebook Messenger.
The revamped AppGallery will debut in Hungary with the manufacturer’s latest smartphone, the HUAWEI nova 10 equipped with a 60MP front camera and the world’s first high-end HUAWEI Mate 50 Pro with a ten-stage variable aperture camera.
Huawei also pays special attention to cooperation with local application developers and to meet the needs of users in Hungary. Thanks to this, many popular Hungarian apps are available in AppGallery, be it apps related to travel, shopping, lifestyle or financial matters.
The focus is on security and user experience
According to the company’s security protocol, all third-party apps in the Huawei App Store must undergo a four-step security check: thorough scanning, monitoring, authentication and re-verification before they are added to AppGallery, a process aimed at identifying malware. Applications and isolation. In addition, AppGallery also performs daily security checks aimed at detecting signs of malicious activity within the app, and the App Store monitors whether the app has received an update and whether the installation package is reliable. It also examines applications from a data security point of view, looking for potential vulnerabilities and security holes. Additionally, to delete ads within the App Store, they can turn on personalized ad blocking, or even delete or reset their advertising ID.
Huawei is committed to protecting users’ privacy and security, and treats user data confidentially in accordance with applicable laws. All European user data is stored in Europe, where rules and regulations require the highest level of user data protection. Each on-premises data center also complies with the deployment and deployment policies for on-premises services.
The further development of AppGallery is ensured by a huge global development team. More than 5.75 million developers worldwide are registered members of the Huawei developer community, as a result of which more than 216,000 applications have been integrated into HMS Core, and the number of HMS applications increased by 147 percent last year.
