Miklos Ksomos (1st place): We last won in 2021. It’s always good to win in any sport, especially at this level, so we’re very happy about that. It’s great to have so many people coming, it’s especially pleasing to see these fans and kids wearing Mixi shirts. I get goosebumps when I see this. The tracks were good, I really liked the fast track downtown, the crowd was big, and we tried to drive in a way that would give them an experience of the scene. It’s a great feeling to see that such a big city accepts us, and everyone from young to old comes to support us. This race also brought experience, as in every race, we learned over the whole weekend. My driving style has also improved, and I am combining experiences here so that we can go as fast as possible. At Rally Hungary, we will be competing in front of a home crowd again, and we are really looking forward to it. We have been there before, we know the tracks, so podium could be a realistic goal there as well, but at the same time we know that a rally, puncture or technology could intervene at any time, but we will certainly do it. Prepare to the maximum and do everything to win there too, or on the podium
Ferenc Vinci (second place, Hungarian champion): It was a great feeling to be champion in 2019 as well, and it’s still great now. It’s a little different now, because we tasted it once before, but you can’t get used to it. That was the goal at the beginning of the year, we put everything into it. We knew that it is not necessary to win every race, balance is important. Everything went according to our plans, I thank the team for the good car, my co-driver was also good, this is what is needed to succeed. Of course, it was difficult to be tactical now, because I am a competitor and I want to win. This time Mixy was ahead of us, but reaching the finish line without risk was more important. We are trying to progress faster in Nyiregyhaza, so we can beat the Mixes better without taking the burden and pressure on the European pitch as well.
I’ve never been to Gyor before, but I’m sure I’ll be back. It’s a beautiful city, and it’s nice to win the championship in a new location, on new tracks, with a podium finish. I’m sure there will be a Jeor rally in the future.
Nandor Bertschi (2nd place, Hungarian champion):I owe it to myself to win the championship. I’ve sailed with five Hungarian champions, and now I’m a champion. I’m just getting text messages from my former Hungarian champion sailor friends saying ‘welcome to the club’, which is a great feeling. I haven’t fully figured it out yet, but I’m already very happy.
The fact that we achieved this result with Ferry is probably the best in motor racing. Young people have heat, speed and reaction time, and us old people can stop them when needed. If this duo can do well, this is a living example, a championship title. There were some situations when Fury wanted to join the fights with Mixie, but he managed to restrain himself, and then we will fight in Zemplin.
Adam Felinzi (third place): We can finally celebrate on the podium with this car. The first day was not good, but once we found the cause of the error, we continued to pick up the pace. We believed in the car and ourselves. Then we were somewhere, they were in front of us and far behind us, and then we tried to drive at our own pace. It was good to compete again in Gyor, and I’m confident there will be racing here again next year. There were a lot of people on the edge of the tracks, especially in the city centre. The revs were sometimes too fast for us because we don’t have a long gear ratio, we were able to reach 184, while others went over 200. It may be necessary to reconsider this, but overall the competition was good.
We will decide the future. Our goal is always a podium, if it is available at the end of the year we will move on, if not we may focus on next year.
Lajos Zajeva (1st place in Peugeot Cup): We always start with the intention of winning, whether together is not always guaranteed. The competition was very fierce, yesterday Marcy (Martun Bertalan) did very well, but he was still behind us. Today, almost everything quickly overcomes us. The guys are very fast, and I’m sorry to leave Attila Hattar out, because they were there at the beginning too. We got a little advantage in the end and we are very happy. (Source: győrrally.hu
