KLM will fly to nearly 170 destinations this summer

KLM will fly to nearly 170 destinations this summer

KLM will operate 96 European and 71 transcontinental destinations in the summer schedule from March 28 to October 29, for a total of 167 destinations, KLM tells us.

The development of the European KLM network is mainly determined by the significant relaxation of entry rules in the Netherlands and most of the European Union. Due to the ever-increasing demand, more and more flights are launched, a good example is Lisbon, where there are already four daily flights from Amsterdam.

Compared to last year, the airline is already providing 10 percent more capacity in Europe, with supplies approaching pre-pandemic levels.

This means a total of 16 million summer seats.

Here we have written more about KLM’s summer schedule of flights to Budapest.

The article will continue through the announcement.

Last year, flights to Belgrade, Dubrovnik and Mallorca, which will be available again by summer, were a huge success. The short connection time is very important for business travelers, which is why KLM has significantly increased the number of flights between British, German, Polish and Dutch destinations.

The airline still does not fly to Kyiv, Moscow and St. Petersburg, and is constantly analyzing the situation.

The transcontinental network has 17 percent more capacity than last year, with KLM operating daily to Aruba, Bonaire and Curaçao this summer, with the latter making two flights per day during peak periods. Trinidad’s capital, Port of Spain, is now available on a winter schedule and will remain bookable in the summer due to its popularity and will be available three times a week with KLM.

Since the US reopened to tourists with conditions in November 2021, KLM has steadily expanded its offerings to US cities. This summer, the 2019 pre-pandemic supplies will be available from September.

Although more and more countries in Asia are relaxing entry rules, there are still significant differences between regions. However, the demand is steadily rising towards the Philippines, Thailand, Singapore, Bali and even India. In addition, the Far East is still high on freight routes, allowing the Asian network to be maintained in the pre-pandemic period, although capacity is still below 2019 levels.

China still has significant entry restrictions, so similar supplies for 2019 cannot be restored just yet.

Far East flights are affected by the Russian airspace ban, as planes have to travel longer distances, which can take up to two hours longer than normal for flights to South Korea, Japan and China. Some Chinese and Japanese flights make technical landings in Seoul and then depart for their destination.

South America is more or less available with pre-pandemic supplies, with KLM flights to Sao Paulo, Panama City and Lima every day, and at least six flights a week to Quito, Bogota, Rio de Janeiro, Santiago and Buenos Aires.

Those wishing to travel to Africa can now choose from 10 destinations, but there are more flights available than last year due to increased demand. Zanzibar debuted last year, which can be booked again, as Johannesburg, Cape Town, Accra, Lagos, Kigali, Entebbe, Nairobi, Kilimanjaro and Dar es Salaam.
