After last year’s second place in this year’s Golden Drum, the Hungarian White Rabbit became the independent agency of the year in the regional advertising competition. Awards were handed out Friday evening at Rovinj.
The White Rabbit has already won this season with its Flutwein campaign, which was created in collaboration with Seven.One Adfactory to help the flooded German wine region. In Cannes, for example, gold, silver and bronze they wonThey won a total of five New York Festival awards (Best Show, Regional Platinum and three Golds). They won five gold medals and a grand prix in Rovinj.
Nine Hungarian agencies are shortlisted for Golden Drum – ACG (4), Café Communications (1), DDB (3), Laboratory, (1) Lounge (1), VMLY & R (1), Wavemaker (3), Synthetic Group (2), White Rabbit (6) – A total of 22 entries were entered, the last agency entered the best as a participant.
Among them, VMLY & R, Artificial Group, ACG, and Wavemaker all shared their award nominations, all winning the Bronze Medal.
For the third year in a row, Publicis Italy became the Agency of the Year, which has gone to great lengths to make Publicis the Network of the Year. The Brand Grand Prix award went to Heineken, and Eoin Sherry, responsible for the campaign created for the brand (The Night is Young), became Creative Director of the year.
A thousand entries were received from 15 countries for the four plus one divisions of this year’s Golden Drum (single channel drumAnd the Omni-Channel DrumAnd the drum craftAnd the Drum Excellence in Creative Business + jury section), entries are included in additional subcategories within these.
Most entries came from Ukraine, followed by Poland, Slovakia and Hungary. Two-thirds of applications were submitted by independent agencies this year, and compared to last year, One-Channel Drum received more entries. Among the strongest categories this year are the crafts department and the social good group.
