LG Electronics (LG) is introducing an exciting new feature on its smart TVs for users who love streaming music. The manufacturer's OLED models and QNED devices with Dolby Atmos function are the first smart TVs to support Apple Music surround sound with Dolby Atmos (spatial audio with Dolby Atmos). This pioneering technology, available in Hungary from this week, promises listeners a great music experience and a new level of sound quality.

To celebrate, LG is offering free Apple Music to LG Smart TV users worldwide for three months. The Apple Music three-month free trial can be activated on LG Smart TVs running webOS 4.0 or later (i.e. 2018 or later models), StanbyME and StanbyME Go models, and MyView smart displays.

Apple Music is an ad-free music streaming service with a huge library: it lets subscribers listen to more than 100 million songs and 30,000 expertly curated playlists. Apple Music also offers a range of exclusive content, including the Apple Music Live Concert Series, which includes live video streaming, post-concert video streaming, live albums, and exclusive pre-concert artist interviews. LG Smart TV users can easily open the Apple Music app in the LG Content Store, between apps, or using the Music Quick Card on the home screen.

Listening to music is a whole new experience with Dolby Atmos surround sound, fullness and clear details. Apple Music automatically plays songs in Dolby Atmos quality on compatible LG Smart TVs, and when paired with LG Soundbars that support Dolby Atmos, listeners can enjoy an even higher level of music experience. Thanks to the new volume normalization algorithm, the volume does not even have to be changed when the user switches to Dolby Atmos tracks.

Even owners of LG Smart TVs that don't support Dolby Atmos can enjoy the audio experience the technology has to offer by connecting their TV to a Dolby Atmos-compatible LG audio display. LG Smart TVs can connect directly to Apple AirPods or other Apple devices via Bluetooth, so Dolby Atmos sound can also be enjoyed on connected devices.

Songs and albums that can be listened to in Dolby Atmos are indicated by a logo in the Apple Music app in the specific content details. Music lovers can easily discover the best content available in Dolby Atmos quality with curated playlists in Apple Music.

“Dolby Atmos technology introduced on LG Smart TVs through Apple Music redefines music listening on the big screen,” said Chris Gu, senior vice president of platforms for LG's consumer electronics business. “LG is committed to improving the streaming experience for music fans and providing easy access and a great music experience for everyone across its devices.”
