Emmanuel Macron recently visited his Brazilian counterpart Lula da Silva. As it turned out, the photos taken in Brazil “were compared to a wedding by some.” Macron responded with a montage on his X page, reminiscent of a La La Land poster.
He said it exactly like this:
“Some people likened the photos of my visit to Brazil to a wedding, and I tell them: It was! France loves Brazil and Brazil loves France!”
He continued by thanking Lula and all Brazilians for the welcome.
They walked together along the Amazon River and strengthened our common determination to fight for forests and people, the French President noted.
Macron also pointed this out in Rio “We can see the strength of our defense cooperation with the launch of Tonelero, the third submarine of our partnership.”
He also mentioned that it was decided with the Brazilian President to increase scientific and technical cooperation and student exchange.
He also confirmed that an important goal has been set for the spring of 2025:
Reviving cultural relations between Brazil and France.
“We believe in democracy”
After these lines, he praised Lola's work so far. As the Brazilian leader wrote “He restored institutional balance, and that means a lot to us. Because we believe in democracy. (…) We believe in the future!”
“We share values that are at the heart of our common history
– noted the French president.
Emmanuel Macron concluded his thoughts by saying: “We have now opened a new page in our relationship. Long live the friendship between Brazil and France.”
