Madeline Brewer stars in the Netflix series “You” for the fifth and final season

Exclusive: Madeleine Brewer (The Handmaid's Tale, Orange is the new black) was cast in the hit psychological drama on Netflix You For the fifth and final season of the show.

In a series regular role, Brewer will play Brontë, a mysterious and spirited playwright who comes to work for Joe Goldberg (Penn Badgley) in his bookstore. As the two connect over literature and loss, she sparks in him nostalgia for his former self, making him question everything his life has become.

You, Based on Caroline Kipnis's best-selling novel of the same name, the film revolves around the question, “What would you do for love?” The series revolves around Joe Goldberg, a man who will do anything when love is on the line.

Season 4 takes place in London as Joe takes on the new identity of Jonathan Moore, an English professor, as he follows Marine (Tati Gabrielle) across Europe. Details regarding the focus of Season 5 are being kept under wraps.

Developed by Sera Gamble and Greg Berlanti You For TV. Executive producers Michael Foley and Justin W. Law will co-showrunner the fifth season. Executive producers also include Berlanti, Gamble, Sarah Schechter, Leslie Morgenstein, Gina Girolamo, John Scott, Neil Reynolds, and Lee Toland Krieger. Brewer is perhaps best known for his portrayal of Janine in Hulu's Emmy Award and Golden Globe Award-winning series The Handmaid's TaleFor which she was nominated for a 2021 Statue Award in the category “Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series.” The series is scheduled to return for its sixth and final season and is based on the best-selling novel by Margaret Atwood.

She will next be seen playing the lead role in the thriller film holiday With Kyle Chandler, Phoebe Dynevor, Diane Lane, Zoey Deutch and V.I I live here now With Lucy Fry.

Last year, Brewer starred as Sally Bowles in the Olivier Award-winning London production nightclub At the Playhouse opposite Callum Scott Howells.
