MediaTek's new high-end chipset, the Dimensity 9400, is expected to be officially unveiled next month. The platform will include the ARM Immortalis-G925 graphics controller, which the Taiwanese company claims is “The highest performing and most efficient GPU available today. This statement is also confirmed by standard results.
Based on synthetic benchmark results, MediaTek’s statement can stand. The Dimensity 9400 GPU achieved a total of 134 fps in the GFX Aztec 1440p off-screen Vulkan benchmark, which is a much more serious performance than the Apple A18 Pro or Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. The former can reach 72, and the latter 95 fps.
We don't blame you if you don't know this test, most people use their mobile phones and don't measure them, so we tell you that the Aztec benchmark is part of the GFXBench application designed to simulate the conditions of running a resource-intensive 3D game and squeeze the last drop from the specified graphics hardware. In addition, it uses the Vulkan API, a powerful software interface.
1440p reveals itself, meaning the simulation is done at QHD setting, which means higher detail, and the outside of the screen indicates that the raw performance of the GPU is under scrutiny here, and the actual resolution has no effect on the results.
Based on the benchmark results, the potential is in the MediaTek Dimensity 9400 chipset and its Immortalis-G925 GPU, but how this hardware performs in real life may depend on additional factors. For example, everything goes down the drain if the manufacturer using the chipset does not use proper cooling, and for safety reasons the device starts to throttle (i.e. reduces performance), thereby reducing the heat generated.
