After several years
Today we can celebrate a real gap-filling investment, as the last time we opened a large, high-quality hotel was 10-12 years ago. Laszlo Papp said it was time to make significant progress again in hotel development. The mayor of Debrecen emphasized that one of the main challenges of the metropolitan city is to balance the development between its districts. Therefore, in addition to strengthening the economy, it is important to open up new opportunities in the field of tourism investments. – Before the epidemic, the number of guest nights in Debrecen was about 509,000. He emphasized that in the first half of this year we hit 300,000, so we can be confident that we’ll hit 2019 numbers again. He also added that Debrecen’s strength lies in event tourism, the city has many world-famous events, and its visitors are looking for quality accommodations.
– We have come to the end of a development which is one of the most important in Debrecen, while it has been the largest to date in terms of our company group. We’ve built a four-star, 155-room luxury hotel in the heart of the city – confirmed Giola Szucks, president and CEO of investor Szinorg Universal Zrt. He pointed out that the planning was preceded by a study that revealed a significant shortage of hotel accommodation in Debrecen. Construction work started in November 2020. Accor hotel management has been appointed as an expert.
