The official presentation of the Cyberster has been hanging in the air for some time, from its debut in 2021 as a concept car, then a facelift for years, until the general public got to see the final showing at this year’s Goodwood Festival. Convertible in motion for the first time. And the Chengdu Auto Show in China finally seems to have proven to be an opportune occasion for MG to reveal in detail what the Cyberster is capable of.
Two electric motors are responsible for moving the convertible, and they are capable of generating 536 horsepower and 735 Nm of torque. According to the Chinese/British brand, it goes from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.2 seconds, which is an appropriate value even in the field of electric cars. It’s also worth saying a few words about range, because MG doesn’t have to be ashamed of this either: the Cyberster with its 77 kWh battery can travel 579 kilometers between two charges in Chinese metrics (CLTC cycle).
On the other hand, being an electric car, the Cyberster could seriously lag behind its petrol rival, with a curb weight of 1,984 kg, making it a very heavy player in the convertible segment. There is not much difference in its dimensions: 4.6 meters long, 1.9 meters wide and 1.3 meters tall, and has a wheelbase of 2.7 meters.
