Microsoft is no longer patient with older Windows users.
With the advent of Windows 11, the current problem is back again Update, no update?Dilemma, while there are millions who, for one reason or another, have not even switched from older systems to Windows 10, which was launched in 2015.
They may have bad news from Microsoft advertisement, which states that support for the OneDrive cloud service will soon be discontinued on operating systems prior to Windows 10.
In practical terms, this means that users of Windows 7, Windows 8 and Windows 8.1 will not receive any further updates to OneDrive as of January 1, 2022, and as of March 1, synchronization will not be available, which means that they will not be able to download Anything on the cloud.
The only downside is that storage will still be accessible even after that, so files uploaded from other devices (or newer secondary installations) will still be able to be handled by more stable users of the older Windows operating system.
Microsoft justifies this move because it wants to focus the company’s resources on new technologies. However, the change does not apply to business accounts, which align with Windows update cycles.
