Minute of silence: Koch Media changed its name

Minute of silence: Koch Media changed its name

The childish banter is over, and the media company formerly known as Koch Media is now operating under a new name. The company that runs game publishers has renamed itself Plaion.

Under the wings of the Embracer Group, but operating on top of Deep Silver, Warhorse Studios or Milestone, Koch Media has been involved in publishing and distributing video games since 1994. The German-Austrian company is named after one of its founders, Franz Koch, but this choice proved somewhat unwise. What on the international stage.

The name was so challenging that Embracer Group shared a self-aware video last year about how to pronounce the company’s name. According to them, the pronunciation of “koh”, “koccs” or “kecs” is all acceptable, but the word “cock” means something completely different. You can guess the pronunciation we, journalists who always act professionally, prefer in editorial circles.

Whatever it is, you don’t have to worry about this in the future, because Koch Media has undergone a complete rebranding. From now on, we have to look for the publisher under the name Plaion (run), and the company also got a completely new logo and a completely new image. Here is the intro video:
