Scandinavian Airlines, a Sweden-based airline, recently announced that it will offer members of its loyalty program EuroBonus Provides the opportunity to book a flight experience with an unknown destination.
The airline's press release indicates that after the announcement on February 12 Over 1,000 members registered within minutes For a sudden trip. Registration closed after 24 hours, and members selected for the flight had an additional 24 hours to confirm their place on the plane with payment.
Instead of money, passengers had to redeem 30,000 miles for a seat. If someone is selected and does not have enough miles or points, they can purchase the remaining miles they need.
The flight departs from Copenhagen on April 5 and returns to the same location on April 8.
Passengers can only know before take-off that the flight will take a few hours. The destination will be announced during the trip. As the mystery flight date approaches, Scandinavian Airlines will be offering guidance to those with a confirmed destination on what to pack.
According to the article, Scandinavian Airlines is not the first airline to launch flights to secret destinations.
At Lufthansa, within the “Lufthansa Surprise” programme, passengers can choose their local airport and a general theme for the type of holiday they want. After booking the ticket, the airline will reveal the destination, but it cannot be changed or cancelled.
In 2023, Wizz Air also launched a mystery flight from Venice, taking a plane full of passengers to Saudi Arabia for a few days.
