The much-anticipated Pikmin 4 is finally coming to the Nintendo Switch and will be released sometime in 2023.
Pikmin 4 was announced during the recent Nintendo Direct Stream with a short trailer. Although the small sample doesn’t really reveal much, the series’ creator, Shigeru Miyamoto He said that the fans From a new perspective“The game can be experienced. Interestingly, the trailer really does offer a new perspective on Pikmin – it shows it from close to Earth for the first time.
“The Nintendo Switch has made the game easy to control, which means we can focus on the core gameplay of Pikmin.” Miyamoto said.

This isn’t much information at the moment, but the fact that Pikmin 4 will ever be released is cause for celebration among fans.
Pikmin 4’s release window 2023 means that a full decade has passed between major releases – it’s only been beaten by Hey! It was interrupted by the release of Pikmin for the Nintendo 3DS and the 2021 mobile game Pikmin Bloom from Niantic, the creator of Pokémon Go.
So we’ve been waiting for the announcement for a long time, as Pikmin 4 has been stuck in development hell for nearly a decade. The franchise’s previous main entry, Pikmin 3, was released on the Wii U back in July 2013, before eventually being re-released on the Nintendo Switch.
