Launched on Netflix in 2016, Stranger Things has taken the culture by storm with its gripping story of kids living in Hawkins, Indiana, battling hostile beings from another dimension bent on taking over our world. Featuring everything from Dungeons & Dragons to H.P. Lovecraft, Stranger Things is widely considered one of the best sci-fi horror series out there.
Season 5 is scheduled to begin sometime in 2025 after a long delay due to the 2023 WGA/SAG-AFTRA strikes.
Thanks to a new behind-the-scenes video released by Netflix, we can now see what's in store for the final season of Stranger Things. Featuring cast, sets, and nostalgic clips from previous seasons, the video is sure to add to the hype surrounding season five.
“I started when I was 10. I'm 20 now. It's a very strange feeling,” he says at one point. Star Millie Bobby Brownhighlighting how much Stranger Things has become a part of his life. “We’re enjoying every moment of it,” adds Sadie Sink, who joined the series in season two as Max Mayfield.
What can fans expect from Stranger Things Season 5?
The show's stars have been teasing the final season on and off for months. Creators Matt and Ross Duffer are calling it “season one on steroids.” That's in line with what star Maya Hawke said about Stranger Things' swan song — which we understand will be eight episodes in total — calling the upcoming season “eight mini-movies.”
Jamie Campbell Bower, who joined the show in season four as the villain Vecna, further hyped the show's fifth season last month when he described it as “absolutely insane.”
“This is bigger. It's just absolutely crazy. Absolutely crazy. If you thought last season was crazy, this season is absolutely wild, wild like crazy. It really is.”
Stranger Things season 5 has largely wrapped filming. But fans will have a long wait before the final season airs on Netflix in 2025.
