TV Line has confirmed that the live-action series has been shelved by the streaming service, and franchise owner Hasbro Entertainment is now looking for a new creative direction and partner for the show.
Jonathan Entwistle has overseen the series, while Jenny Klein has served as showrunner, but so far neither Entwistle, Klein, Netflix, or Hasbro have commented on the status of the series. According to Jinsakuu's original report, Hasbro wants to do something similar to what they did with the Power Rangers toys. Earlier this year, Hasbro announced that it had licensed the toys to Playmates, which will begin offering their products next year. According to the report, Hasbro wants to follow a similar path with its TV franchises, trying to stay as far from adaptation as possible while still having franchise revenue.
