Netflix has already introduced the cheaper ad-supported subscription option in several countries, and it’s not available in our country yet, but that’s probably just a matter of time. Meanwhile, the more convenient ad-free option is constantly being rolled out, meaning users will either have to pay more or have to deal with ads.
In fact, the cheaper Basic package has already started to be canceled, and it is no longer possible to subscribe to it in many regions, but those who have already chosen it have been left alone so far. The current development is that they have started sending the notice to those concerned, who must choose a different package instead of the Basic package. This could be the cheaper “Basic with Ads” version, which contains ads, or the two more expensive versions, Standard and Premium.
So far, the process has reportedly started in the UK and Canada, but the US and other regions could follow soon. These changes always arrive in Hungary a little later, but sooner or later the ad-supported package will reach us, and the cheaper ad-free option will almost certainly not be available here for long either.
We still have the following three subscription options:
- Basic (one device at a time, 720p): HUF 2,490/month
- Standard (2 devices at the same time, Full HD): HUF 3,490/month
- Premium (4 devices at the same time, 4K resolution): HUF 4,490/month
You can also add an additional user to our package for HUF 990 per month, but only for the two most expensive versions (one for the Standard version, two for the Premium version).
What to expect next in Hungary? If we start from the American prices and their ratios, then if the ad-supported package is introduced in our country, it will cost HUF 1,400-1,500 per month, and the ad-free package for HUF 2,490 may be discontinued, but there is no official information about this yet.
