Netflix Responds to Anime Leaks, Pledges to Take 'Strict Action'

Movie News – A number of highly anticipated anime titles have been leaked online this week after a security breach at a post-production partner allowed the leak to hit several major streaming services. Among the leaked content were upcoming Netflix shows such as mysterious Season 2, Terminator: Zeroa Dandadan and Ranma ⁄2 Full episodes.

After two days of silence, Netflix finally spoke out, saying it would take “aggressive action” to address the leak. In a statement to The Wrap , a Netflix spokesperson reassured fans who feared the company was not responding appropriately to the events.

“One of our post-production partners was hacked, resulting in the unfortunate leak of recordings for several of our titles. Our team is working aggressively to remove these recordings.

The leak has not only affected Netflix but other streaming platforms as well. Crunchyroll, a major player in anime streaming, has Reply: Zero The first episode of its new season was leaked, causing a huge stir among fans. Other affected titles include: Heart Stopper Season 3a Gentry Chao vs. Underworld And movies like Plankton: The Movie and surprisingCrunchyroll confirmed in an official statement that it is aware of the situation and announced that it has launched an investigation to find out the source of the leak.

Iyuno, the post-production partner at the leak center, released a “security incident update” on its website on August 9, citing “unauthorized access to confidential materials” and confirming that measures are being taken to address the matter.

“Iono is aware of a recent security incident involving unauthorized access to confidential content. Protecting our customers’ privacy and ensuring the security of their content is our top priority. We are actively investigating the vulnerability to mitigate potential risks and identify those responsible. We will release further information as more information becomes available.”

While both Netflix and Iyuno have issued public statements, it remains unclear how successful they have been in managing the damage. Meanwhile, we can see more and more backlash on social media, with many animators expressing their frustration and feelings of disrespect. Some users are even calling on Netflix to release the leaked anime episodes earlier than planned to make up for the leak. Since social media is filled with unspecified spoilers, fans may want to stay away for a while to avoid learning about any unwanted plot points.
