The first issue of the Cowboy Bebop comedy, which is based on live-action characters, arrives later this month.
While we don’t expect a Firefly-level cult classic to debut on Netflix’s live-action Cowboy Bebop series, it’s interesting that fans are pretty divided after the critical fall and the swift cancellation of the rest of the series.
Some say it was sacrilege to change anything about it compared to the anime, while others feel that the outrage of the former camp didn’t give the series a chance to show its virtues. Those of the latter group who would have liked to see this version of the Bebop crew in many adventures can now rejoice.
The name Titan Comics may sound familiar to PlayStation fans, as the company previously released companions in Horizon Zero Dawn and Spider-Man: Miles Morales. Now, in comic form, also featuring live cowboy bebop characters, the first issue of the series will be released on January 19.
However, in the meantime, they’re trying to spark interest in the story with a few tasting pages that have everything you’d expect from a bounty hunters story adaptation: stunning action, endless slack, and even famous jazz in the background. Smuggled to the pages. Possible in the silent medium of the comic. You can also browse the pages in the gallery below.
Incidentally, Netflix, despite the release of the Cowboy Bebop, doesn’t seem to make much of a change in its content strategy just yet. On the one hand, they go on to tackle the classics, for example, they’ll appear with a quote from Scott Pilgrim, and given the second season of The Vajs, deviating from the core work isn’t considered sacrilege either.
