Did you know that cigarette butts are one of the most common eyes? Although it only looks like a small piece of harmless paper, cigarette butts are actually very dangerous.
Since its base material is plastic, it stays buried underground for many years or just drifts in water. In addition, dozens of dangerous compounds accumulate in the buttocks, including arsenic, lead and nicotine. Throwing it into the street or into the sewer, it will definitely end up in the water, so dangerous toxins will be released from it.
Here, too, the principle “a lot of a little goes a long way” applies, but unfortunately in a bad sense.
Cigarette butts are fought intensively in many places:
Since some smokers ditch their cigarette butts despite all the bans, a recent law in Spain ensures that coastal municipalities can even ban smoking on beaches. The application was signed by 280,000 people in the country.
In Copenhagen, the local government uses pocket ashtrays to indicate that the butt is not in the sand but in the trash.
In San Francisco, hundreds of special cigarette-shaped ashtrays have been placed in public spaces to raise awareness of the problem.
Buttocks are also a problem in Hungary: according to data from civil society organizations, more than a quarter of the population, 27 percent, smoke.
In addition, the appearance of a neglected butt is also not very beautiful, and it is very difficult to collect it. So, never get rid of your butt!
