Netflix’s new series “Wednesday” is suitably gory and teen.
Netflix seems to have hit the ground running with the Addams Family reboot, with Wednesday’s series a hit.
What do you want to know about Wednesday series on Netflix?
Back in February 2021, Netflix announced that it was producing an Addams Family series with MGM/UA Television as a distribution partner. The showrunners and screenwriters for the Wednesday Addams series are Alfred Gough and Miles Millar, and the director is Tim Burton, who considers this his entry into the world of soap operas. The role of the pale little girl was permanently given to Jenna Ortega, who can be seen, among other things, in the new Scream or in the Fallout series available on HBO Max.
The party family managed to cast more good casts, with Catherine Zeta-Jones as Morticia Addams, Luis Guzmán as Gomez Addams, and of course, Isaac Ordonez as Pugsley Addams.
According to the story, Wednesday leaves her former school and resumes her studies at her mother’s former school, Nevermore Academy, which was founded especially for strange young people like herself, full of werewolf and vampire children.
The creator’s intent is quite clear to move Wednesday from mild Oxford designed for “witches” to the sadistic and slightly bloody Nevermore Academy, which adapts well to the latest TV trends, and with which its target audience can identify, like TikTok, even on other social media platforms. Jenna Ortega is only 20 years old, yet she’s one of Netflix’s biggest finds, just think of the You (You) series, in which she became one of viewers’ favorites even as a supporting character.
When will Season 2 come out on Wednesday?
Alfred Gough and Miles Millar did not dream of a one-season limited series, and Tim Burton also left the possibility of its continuation, which obviously depends mainly on reception. On the other hand, Wednesday has already achieved this segment, because it is not only in the first place in the list of the 10 best series in Hungary, but also in the first place in America and Argentina, and of course we would not be surprised if it quickly achieves record viewership in the broadcast service provider.
Wednesday is clearly not among the least expensive series, but it’s also not a massive fantasy or fantasy epic filled with lots of expensive CGI. During the week since its premiere, the series has already begun to weave itself into the pop culture milieu, but let’s not forget, for example, the evenings of Sense8, Spinning Out or Archive 81, which, despite their success, did not receive a renewal. from Netflix.
Miles Millar told TVLine that they were only scratching the surface with the first season and its characters. Viewers will also likely be interested in further possibilities of the relationship between Morticia and Wednesday, and in the latter’s case, more about her life outside of the family could be told.
