This year’s Formula 2 champion was disappointed to learn that he would not get a place on the Formula 1 grid for 2024: Theo Bourchier also spoke about his bad luck and the system.

Pourchier made no secret of his disappointment in Baku either: “I’m the third Formula 2 champion in a row not to be promoted to Formula 1, which can happen, because of the championship, you don’t automatically get a place in Formula 1. At the end of the 2024 season, more than a dozen of the current contracts will expire, which could create an opportunity for newcomers to arrive – which is why Bourchier could be hurt by the previously criticized rule, under which the champion cannot remain in the championship. F2:
He added: “A lot of drivers’ contracts expire at the end of 2024, but I won’t be there in Formula 2. That’s why I want to continue racing somewhere and show Formula 1 that I can be really fast and that I deserve a place there,” then he continued:
