What gives me an idea? Belief in a transcendent reality: Many people call God or refer to Him in other terms. And for me, this is not just a conviction, but one of the important experiences in my life, that the world is not only material in nature. Interestingly enough, I’ve always had this experience right from the start. Not a single moment in my life passed without God. This does not mean that I go to church all the time. What is important to me is that

There is some (metaphysical) reality behind physics – which is more than can be seen and measured with the tools of the natural sciences.

The tension between science and religion can be explained with some simplification by the fact that both science and religion tend to transcend their respective fields: for example, when naturalists claim that they can fully explain evolution, they do not take it into account. an important role in the process. On the other hand, religious fundamentalists take the Bible literally and claim that creation occurred exactly as described in the Bible (within a few days). It is a disaster when science and religion misunderstand themselves in this way.

Science and religion actually complement each other. I think this is a very positive thing!
