The best wine-producing country in the world was announced, and the winner was not France.
Spain, South Africa, the United States, the United Kingdom, and, of course, Hungary also have many excellent wines. However, there is also much dispute among experts as to which country is the best in the world when it comes to wine production. The decision is also complicated by the fact that it is very difficult to compare different growing regions or different wines.
However, the Decanter World Wine Awards made the decision for us. In the world’s largest wine competition, more than eight thousand wines from fifty-seven countries were judged by two hundred and forty experts.
According to the 2023 Decanter World Wine Awards, the best wine-producing country in the world is currently Australia. in competition
Ten Australian wines also took home the Best in Show award,
Thus leaving behind the other major wine-producing countries in the world.
France and Spain also climbed to the podium with eight Best in Show awards each. Italy managed to collect seven awards.
Portugal, Argentina, Germany, Greece and South Africa also did well in the competition, but Austrian, Chilean, New Zealand and American winemakers also took home an award.
