But among Stephen King's 65 books, there's one you won't find on shelves, and it's from the beginning of his career. In 1977, he published his novel The Shining, which was later made into an excellent film, but in the same year, an author named Richard Bachman published a novel called The Rage. But it turns out that King and Bachmann were the same person, that is, they published under a pseudonym.
Only those copies of Rage that were printed long ago remain in circulation, as the author decided that he no longer wanted to publish it. I have been waiting for a Hungarian edition of the novel for a long time, but knowing history suggests it will never be translated and published.
“It's out of print now, and that's a good thing,” King once wrote of the novel, before explaining in a 1999 speech why he won the 1997 school shooting by 14-year-old Michael Carnell, which left Three and five injured. It is time to take the book out of print. The boy had a copy of the Book of Rage – the story is about a high school student who kills two of his teachers and threatens to kill the students if they do not comply with his demands. Stephen King's book was later linked to several American school shootings, which is why no more copies of it were printed.
