One of the world’s richest women has donated a fortune, but still has a lot of money left over

Last year, MacKenzie Scott donated a total of $2.15 billion to various charities. Since last December, he has distributed his donations to 360 different organizations, but he did not reveal the specific amount for each charity.

Scott began donating larger amounts after her divorce from her then-husband, Amazon founder Jeff Bezos. Since then, it has donated more than $16.5 billion to more than 1,900 nonprofit organizations. Despite these large donations, Scott still has a net worth of $34.3 billion, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index. She is the fifth richest woman in the world and also the 38th richest man.

In 2019, Scott committed to the Giving Pledge, an informal commitment made by billionaires to give away a significant portion of their wealth during their lifetimes or in their wills.

In comparison, her ex-husband Jeff Bezos, who is currently the second richest person in the world with a fortune of $171 billion, has not signed the Giving Pledge, but promised last year to give away most of his fortune during his lifetime.

According to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index The ranking of the five richest women in the world is as follows:

  1. Françoise Bettencourt Meyers, $94.7 billion
  2. Alice Walton $67.5 billion
  3. Julia Fleischer Koch and her family, $65.4 billion
  4. Jacqueline Badger March $46.9 billion
  5. Mackenzie Scott, $34.3 billion
