The OnePlus 12 has made its debut in China, with a local content producer already teardowning the device. Thanks to the recording, we can get an insight into the construction of the smartphone’s hardware and, among other things, we can also see a vapor chamber cooling system of large dimensions.
The video was made by Wikihome It was prepared by the channel team, and the recording is in Chinese, but fortunately it can be easily understood without knowing the language. Disassembling the OnePlus 12 starts with removing the network card socket and then heating the adhesive that secures the back panel.
Once the substance becomes liquid again, the back cover can be removed. The motherboard and other important components are placed behind a three-part plastic cover, which also includes the wireless charging coil, NFC module, LED flash, and ambient light sensor.
Then, thanks to videographers, we can take a closer look at the smartphone’s camera sensors, of which the 50MP stacked-design Sony Lytia 808 main unit is undoubtedly the most interesting. The motherboard, like the camera, features a two-layer design, with a special copper layer around the chipset to help dissipate heat.
Disassembly of the smartphone continues until we reach the large steam chamber located under the screen. It seems that OnePlus did not take the cooling of its 12 flagship phone seriously. Videographers also drew attention to the presence of several rubber seals inside the body of the device, which protect electronic devices from water leakage. This is a build that has an IP65 mobile phone rating.
