OnePlus has unveiled its latest mid-range offering, the Nord CE 3 Lite. Although the smartphone is powered by the same processor as its predecessor, it may be worth paying attention to, among other things, a 108MP camera, 8GB of RAM, and support for 67W fast charging.
The new model has a new screen, which in this case is a 6.72-inch IPS LCD solution, an 8-bit panel with Full HD + resolution, supports 120Hz refresh rate, and touch registration at 240Hz. The maximum brightness is 680 nits. The screen is protected from scratches by Gorilla Glass, but the manufacturer has not yet specified its generation.
So the Snapdragon 695 chipset is still running inside the OnePlus Nord CE 3 Lite, which doesn’t quite reach the level of the latest mid-range Dimensity or Snapdragon chipset, but the 6nm build still manages to provide satisfactory performance for everyday use. At the same time, one of its annoying limitations is that it only supports HD video recording at frames per 30 seconds, which is not really suitable for a 108MP camera.
Before moving on to the camera, it should be noted that the minimum operating memory is now 8 GB, and thanks to OxygenOS 13, it can be increased with an additional 8 GB of virtual RAM at the expense of internal storage. By the way, the storage is 128 or 256 GB, UFS 2.2 standard, and thanks to the hybrid card slot in the mobile phone, it can be expanded with a card with a capacity of up to 1 TB.
On the back of the OnePlus Nord CE 3 Lite is a 108MP primary camera with Samsung ISOCELL HM6 sensor. The 1/1.67-inch module contains 0.64 µm pixels, which can be combined into 1.92 µm effective pixels of 12 MP through a 9-in-1 process. This enables 3x lossless and up to 6x digital zoom.
The other two cameras on the back of the device deserve no mention, they’re both 2MP macro and depth sensor solutions, and they’re not bothered by a lot of water. Selfies can be taken using the 16MP unit on the front, which happens to be inside a cutout below the top bezel, center aligned.
The phone houses a 5,000mAh battery inside, which now supports 67W SuperVOOC fast charging. With this method, charging a fully discharged battery can reach 80 percent in just 30 minutes. The battery has several built-in protections that prevent overcharging and slow battery aging.
Regarding the OnePlus Nord CE 3 Lite, it is also worth noting the headphone output, stereo speaker, slim design of 8.3 mm and weight of 195 grams. The device is sold in lime and gray shades and will also be available in Europe. The base model 8/128 GB will cost 330 euros (about 123 thousand HUF), we will not have another configuration at the moment. Sales begin April 25th.
