If we want to buy a high-end tablet, we don’t have a lot of options in Android circles, and only a few manufacturers offer something like this. Fortunately, another contender has arrived, the OnePlus Pad 2, which is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. Incidentally, the device is the international version of the OnePlus Pad Pro that was recently launched in China.
The OnePlus Pad 2 has a 12.1-inch IPS LCD display with a resolution of 2120 x 3000 pixels and a refresh rate of 144 Hz. Sure, everyone will be happy with the OLED panel, but the device will likely cost more, and that's really the only serious compromise when it comes to the tablet, apart from the fact that European customers won't get a charging adapter. Back to the display: the maximum brightness is 900 nits and the aspect ratio is 7:5.
The tablet is equipped with six speakers and supports input using a pen, as we can use the OnePlus Stylo 2. If someone wants to be very productive, they can also buy a keyboard case called Smart Keyboard separately for the device.
The OnePlus Pad 2 is powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, which is accompanied by 8 or 12 GB of RAM depending on the package, and the storage can be 128 or 256 GB. The equipment includes Bluetooth 5.4, NFC – a feature not often found in tablets – and Wi-Fi 7. The tablet is powered by a 9510 mAh battery that supports 67W fast charging. Unfortunately, the manufacturer does not include the necessary adapter in the box, and it will have to be purchased separately.
The device greets its owner with Android 14 after the first boot, which can also use the additions of the OxygenOS 14 interface. The software will make the connection between OnePlus mobiles and tablets even closer thanks to the newly introduced continuity function, Content Sync, which synchronizes photos and videos between devices. Software support has not yet been clarified, but given the promises of three major Android versions and four years of security patches for the previous OnePlus Pad, the new model will likely receive no less.
The clipboard can also be synced, just like notifications, and of course we also get AI functions for editing photos and texts. The OnePlus Pad 2 will only be available in gray here in Europe, where they ask for €499, or around HUF 195,000. For that amount you get 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage, and no other configuration is visible at the moment. On the manufacturer's sideThere is also no version with a 4G modem. Open sales of the device in Europe will start on August 1.
