However, the treasures of the East, the immeasurably rich culinary world, still hold countless exciting and delicious surprises, and fortunately, they are easily accessible. Below, we have collected some units that fill this gap, offering authentically prepared Far Eastern dishes made with traditional ingredients and made close enough thanks to their location in Budapest.
We will be addressing Middle Eastern cuisine again, as the rich culinary culture there also deserves to be presented in a separate list.
On this occasion, we follow our compass needle further east, and we have presented examples from Japan to India, all the way to China and Vietnam. Places worth visiting if you are looking for exotic ingredients, traditional cuisine or an oriental fusion with a homey touch.
Biang Bistro
China immediately joins the list with a chain of multi-unit bistros. Master Wang’s fine Chinese cuisine, translated into casual bistro style, awaits lovers of Chinese flavours at three locations, Oktogon, Astoria and Vámház körút. The units offer a clean selection, but everyone can find something to their liking, whether they come for a quick lunch or a longer dinner.
The warning next to the spicy dishes on the menu should be taken seriously, just as it is worth trying dishes made with ingredients that seem surprising at first, such as a noodle soup enriched with pork entrails.

101 tiger
In the place of Laci!Konyha, the former legendary Bib Gourmand unit in the 13th arrondissement, now unfortunately closed, a truly exciting location awaits those who are not afraid of a restaurant where, according to the owners' admission, “tragically hot” dishes await its guests.
However, at the youngest member of the 101 brand, only part of the selection revolves around spices, in addition, we find fusion dishes of Asian Taiwanese cuisine, polished with local twists and elements. It is nice to come inside with a modern atmosphere and taste the menu that ranges from soups to noodles with sauces.
But it is also worth visiting the themed dinners organized by the unit, where you can often find new flavors or even surprising drink pairings. Recently, for example, the restaurant's dinner with Kőbánya beer generated a great response.

Little Japan
Unfortunately, the cuisine of the Land of the Rising Sun is found in a few undeserved places in the capital. Little Japan seeks to fill this huge void and does a good job of its task. The sushi selection at Üllői úti is prepared according to a very serious concept, and the end result is not only impressively beautiful, but also very tasty.
The interior of the restaurant is designed in a truly original style, and the raw materials are selected according to the most traditional aspects. Little Japan is a place where the visitor will definitely return.

Chinatown Budapest
The situation with this representative of the list is special, because it is not one restaurant, but a whole group of restaurants. There is not yet a whole part of the city waiting for its guests around the center of Monori on Gijzen Street, but the shops and restaurants here have earned the name of Budapest's Chinatown for their authenticity.
The amazing selection is backed by real expertise and authentic ingredients, and it's also worth visiting on major holidays in the Chinese calendar, as the local community always prepares special programs for important days.

Rajdhani Indian Restaurant Budapest
Another entry missing from the list, as there are few places where you can still enjoy the food of the Indian subcontinent, prepared in a truly traditional way. One of the main strengths of the family restaurant is its home-style food. It is worth staying longer and sampling the dishes that come in traditional Indian dishes, but it would be a shame to miss out on the delicious street food-style dishes that can be packed “for walks”, they are also worth a try.

Vietnamese Goulash Hong Kong
Built on a fusion of Hungarian and Asian cuisine, the border-crossing Krisztián Huszér restaurant is worth a visit not just for the now-iconic dish of the same name. Don’t hesitate to try the pancakes seasoned with Vietnamese flavours, the light summer dishes that are perfect for the terrace, or the colourful array of gyoza!
The style of cuisine, which uses Hungarian twists but is clearly nourished by Asian roots, is unique and a fresh colour, not only for this menu, but also for the Budapest restaurant scene.

Chu and Co.
In a family restaurant, everything revolves around jiaozi and of course the guests. Authentic recipes are prepared with traditional ingredients and come here of course for the visitors, and are prepared by hand according to the strictest traditions.
The only downside to Nagymező Street's Patio Restaurant offering is that it seems impossible to order enough jiaozi, as there is never a supply that is inexhaustible.
