The Green Bay Packers will be without All-Pro cornerback Jaire Alexander on Sunday night against Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs. A lingering shoulder injury will force Alexander, who is out in Week 13, to miss his third straight game and seventh game overall this season.
Alexander injured his shoulder in Week 9 against the Rams and has not played since. Even the small farewell following the Packers’ win on Thursday of last week wasn’t enough for him to get ready for the game.
There is some good news. Linebacker De’Vondre Campbell, receiver Jayden Reed, safety Darnell Savage, receiver Dontayvion Wicks, safety Rudy Ford and cornerback Robert Rochell are all active although listed as questionable.
Here are the Packers’ inactives for Week 13:
CB Jair Alexander
RB Aaron Jones
LB Brenton Cox Jr
T Caleb Jones
To Josiah Deguara
WR Samori Touré
Jones (knee) was ruled out Friday. Deguara and Alexander are the only two inactive players from a list of eight players who were doubtful to play. Cox, Jones and Torre are all healthy scratches.
The Packers will start AJ Dillon at running back and Carrington Valentine, Corey Ballentine and Keisean Nixon at cornerback. Rookie Henry Pearson was elevated from the practice squad to replace Deguara for the second straight week.
